We take a little break from ~~walking the streets of the Corridor~~ the daily grind and when we get back, we hear that Da’Pitt, one of the Divisadero Corridor’s most photogenic exteriors, is no more.

Over the years, we took many shots out and around Da’Pitt (we’re culling the archives for when it went by other names, like Lilly’s and Brother-in-Law’s Bar-B-Que #2). Notable, we suppose, is that there were never any photos taken inside or of the food.

But it sure did smell good.

R.I.P. Da’Pitt at 705 Divisadero. It was never about the food, really.

Ever wonder what the inside of the Harding Theater at 616 Divisadero looks like? Photographer R.A. McBride got a look inside a few years ago for the book “Left in the Dark”.

We’re willing to bet nothing much has changed inside this on-the-market, off-the-market property. It was last used as church before closing down in 2003, hence the cross.

Neighborhood ~~eyesore~~ historic theater, the Harding, is once again on the market. Haighteration reports the asking price is $4.2m.

We’ve been a long-time supporter of any effort to preserve the theater in some form that will allow the whole community to benefit from the space. The latest group to pick up the torch to keep the Harding Theater from becoming luxury condos for a few is Neighbors Developing Divisadero. They detail the 10-year saga of the theater’s on-the-market, off-the-market history.

We’ve posted about the Harding more than a few times in the past year: here, here, here and here.

Not cool.

Haighteration reports that Comix Experience at 305 Divisadero was robbed at gunpoint this past Friday in broad daylight.

According to the store’s owner, Brian Hibbs,

“Two kids came in, did a lap around the store, then broke with one going to stand in front of the door. The other whipped out a shotgun (maybe? Some sort of a gun with a wooden stock, at least). ‘Open the register, bitch! Oh, and give us that iphone!’”
